The Bride – Center Of Attention
It is wonderful to have all eyes resting upon you, especially if you know that you look absolutely stunning.
The bride usually spend a lot of time finding the right dress. The dress should highlight her figure, camouflage her imperfections as well as highlighting her personality.
In contrast it is often only in the last minute we start thinking of the bride’s makeup. But a perfect makeup can be the icing on the cake and should be planned well in advance.
What is a perfect wedding makeup?
“You can quickly get your face painted to an almost unrecognizable look” says makeup artist Carrie Springer. “It’s technically possible to transform a pale, freckled girl into a Brazilian samba dancer, but it would of course preferable that the groom can recognize his bride”.
Carrie recommend that you find a makeup solution that addresses both the bride’s own colors, wedding dress and accessory design, the brides hairstyle and especially her personality. That’s how you will achieve a Total Styling.
“Using Total Styling we synchronize all the ingredients, so you get a full expression” explains Carrie Springer. “It is important that the bride on her big day express the look she desire. Will she be romantic and sweet with stars in her eyes, natural and relaxed au natural, seductive vamp with alluring eyes and red lips, or fresh and girly with flushed cheeks? “.
Whether you apply the makeup yourself or get a professional makeup artist to take care of the task, you should think about the look you want to express.
“It is important that the bride takes the time to think about her look and be honest about it. We must strive for a situation where she during her special day and later when she thinks back on the wedding and look at the photos, she feels she got all her expectations fulfilled “says Carrie.
Working with colors and contrasts
“The trick for a beautiful makeup is the use of complementary colors, contrasts and contradictions. These can be used to both highlight and hide. “says Carrie and offers the following examples:
“What is the opposite of glowing? To look pale and dull. That means in order for the eyes to sparkle, we must apply something pale and dull to highlight the glow. If you want to enhance the color and warmth in your eyes, choose cold colors on your face, so the eyes appear warmer and so on “.
Carrie recommends wearing reflective shadow, but no glitter. She also recommends that you use an electric eyelash curler to curl your lashes with. It opens your eyes and do not break your lashes like some non electric eyelash curler can do.
Prepare skin in good time
You should prepare your skin in good time before the wedding.
“Good skin care and lots of face masks will give you a nice soft skin.” says Carrie. “Wedding makeup requires a perfect and flawless skin. Focus on the base, foundation and concealer. Laura Mercier makes a great foundation. Remember also the skin on the shoulders, breasts and neck, if the dress is low-cut or you are showing your shoulders. ”
Carrie Springer also has good advice when it comes to enhancing a bare, flat or pale chest, “If you would like to enhance your bosom, use the light / shadow concept. Shading the cavalier and use light on the chest, then you will get bigger and fuller breasts. Do you want the opposite effect you should simply use the colors opposite.”
